Beginning the Journey

My Why: A Wellness Journey at 56

There comes a time in life when you feel a gentle but undeniable pull to do things differently.

For me, that moment arrived at 56 years old.

I began to think more seriously about the legacy I want to leave behind — not just in what I build, but in how I live. I want my life to mean something. I want to create something that leaves a mark. And I want the years ahead to be filled with intention, purpose, and growth.

Faith Has Been a Turning Point

In recent years, I’ve gone deeper in my Christian faith, and it has changed the way I see my life. It has reminded me that it’s never too late to begin again — and that even small steps, taken consistently, can become a powerful transformation.

My faith has helped me want to truly start living life again. Not rushing through the days. Not settling for “good enough.” But showing up with gratitude and courage, and choosing forward progress.

My First Journey: Reclaiming My Health

Before anything else, I’m choosing to rebuild my health — one day at a time.

I’m starting this journey at 350 pounds, and my goal is clear:

By 12/31/2026, I plan to lose 125 pounds.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about returning to a healthier, stronger way of living — physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Here’s what that will include:

  • Exercising regularly, in a way that’s sustainable

  • Eating better, with consistent choices and practical habits

  • Using the Feel Great Protocol from Unicity as part of my daily routine

I’m not sharing this because I have all the answers. I’m sharing it because I’m committed to the process — and because I know how powerful it can be when we choose to begin.

Why I’m Writing This

This blog is a chronicle of my journey — the progress, the setbacks, the lessons, and the moments of clarity that come along the way.

I’m writing for a few simple reasons:

  1. Accountability — it helps to put a stake in the ground

  2. Growth — I want to learn what works and keep improving

  3. Encouragement — because I know I’m not the only one who wants a fresh start

If you’re reading this and you’ve felt stuck, tired, or unsure where to begin… I hope this reminds you of something important:

It’s not too late.

A healthier life is built one choice at a time — and those choices add up.

What You’ll Find Here

As I continue, I’ll share updates like:

  • Weekly progress check-ins (including weigh-ins and honest reflections)

  • Simple routines that support consistency

  • Meals and habits that help me stay on track

  • What I’m learning along the way

  • How the Feel Great Protocol is fitting into my journey

  • Faith-based encouragement that stays practical and grounded

An Invitation

If you’re on a journey of your own — health, mindset, faith, or discipline — I’d love for you to follow along.

And if you feel comfortable, share this with me:

What’s one goal you’re working toward this year?

This is my beginning.

One step. One day. One faithful decision at a time.
